preparations for the anagama

I've begun back-posting updates, which I should compile into a list for you guys to check out. However, it's going to take me a little while to catch up, but I won't let that to stop me from telling you about what's new and exciting that's coming up.

So what's new that's coming up? A wood-firing of the anagama kiln at Peters Valley!

There's about 12 cords of wood which will be going into this kiln for six days of firing.

This is my temporarily titled "Anxious Kitten" sculpture, which will be going into this firing. Kinda felt inspired by the influx of kittens we've had at work lately, usually sick, their faces covered in boogers. Something about the feral kitten is speaking to me lately, and I'm interested in how the ash from the wood kiln could contribute to it's "sickness." Should be finished with this little guy later tonight.
