I'M LEARNING TO COOK.
oh gawd run.
This past week I did my own version of a "fruit and veggie detox diet." Whenever one asks about a detox diet, the usual response is "eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and drink lots of water." All that good-for-you fiber and water helps your body flush all the bad out. Not to mention, when you eat light, you feel light. I felt heavy and over-sugared after Halloween weekend, so I decided the next day to try something new for a week.
Here we are at day seven of my "detox." My rules were simple, I allowed myself fruits, vegetables, beans, egg, rice, oatmeal and seafood. It's not exactly vegan, but it did help me make it through the week not feeling deprived. It's important, for it's success, to not feel deprived when trying a new meal plan. And... I feel good. In fact, I lost 4.6lbs this week! BUT! I must disclaim that I also tracked and controlled my calorie intake this week, which I'm sure also attributed to the weight-loss.
Since things are going so well, I'm eating healthier and feeling better because of it, I'm gonna stick with it for a while. Not sure what changes are in the future. I'm learning to cook, and feeling more brave to trying cooking more things for myself. I've always wanted to learn how to cook, so I'm super stoked for this, I've been bookmarking tons of new and healthy recipes. I plan to share with you guys my cooking journey.
