I found out today that I didn't get accepted to Tyler School of Art for Spring 2010, although a small win for Temple University's willingness to take me if I changed majors. Unfortunately I don't have plans to go to Temple unless it's for art, so I will be continuing my art school search for Fall 2011.
I'm really proud of myself for seeing the application process through. Last Fall, I was experiencing a ton of anxiety over transferring, allowing the March deadlines slip by. My excuse was that I'd work on my portfolio all Spring/Summer and apply for schools in the Fall for the Spring Semester. While I did get some decent art work done over a few months, I didn't start any real application efforts until two-weeks before the deadlines. Despite all the anxiety, procrastination and excuses, I was able to finish and ship off my application in hopes of being accepted to Tyler. This was a small victory for me.
Knowing rejection was possible, I've already decided that I will be reapplying to Tyler, as well as a handful of other schools for Fall 2011. And in the next 9 months, I will be working full time in order to save money, in addition to getting my etsy shop off the ground, writing in this blog more, and creating some awesome art work along the way.
